Summer Kick-off Luau

P1050646

Our cousins were visiting from Cedar City last week, so we decided to have a party to start the summer off right.  I’m so glad Aunt Cari was in charge, because when it comes to parties, she doesn’t mess around.  She planned a whole days worth of crafts, games, and food.  Needless to say, the kids had a blast!

Here is a picture of the party go-ers complete with flower necklaces and hair clips, followed by a picture of Ellie and Addie.  Ellie cannot get enough of her youngest cousin.  Who can blame her!

For the crafts the kids made glitter bags and shell necklaces.  David and John really, really love glitter glue, as you can see.  They were so happy.

The games were so simple, yet so fun.  They played one where they had to knock over tiki masks using various water tools, a water balloon toss (Ellie could not figure out how to snap her towel to save her life), feed the Tiki ( a version of Pin the Tail on the Donkey), and they did the limbo.  David actually did pretty good knocking over the tiki men.  Ellie is always a champ at the limbo. (those tumbling classes really pay off here.) John was absolutely hilarious doing the limbo.  Everyone got a laugh.

It was such a fun way to start the summer.  We can’t wait for another visit from our cousins.

I have this fabulous gourmet s’more party in mind…
