Black Island Farms

The boy’s got to go on their first field trip this past week.  Our preschool visited Black Island Farms in Syracuse.  It is such a fun place. It’s always a big hit with the kids.

First we got to go on a hayride behind a tractor.  They took us out into the farm and each kid got to pick their own pumpkin.  Here is David trying on Dad’s sunglasses on the hayride and the boys raising their hands to show that they’d found the perfect pumpkin.

David and his “huge” pumpkin.  He was feeling a little shy.

After the hayride we set the kids loose to see whatever they wanted to see.  Of course, the boys headed right for the slides.  Here they are with Erin and Ben.

After doing the slides a bunch of times they played on the teeter-totter, the corn “sand-box”, the cow train, and the corn maze.  They had a blast.

Later in the afternoon they called the kids over to watch the pig races.  The kids all got to cheer for their favorite colored pig.  John was adamant about cheering for red, and David wanted blue.

After the races we discovered these water pumps where you could race rubber duckies.  I think if we would have found this earlier, John would’ve stayed there all day.  He was crazy about it!  He meant business.

I was so happy that Eric came to the field trip.  It made it so much easier for me to be a teacher and a mom that afternoon.  The boys loved hanging out with their dad and Erin and Ben.  You can bet the boys had a nice nap that afternoon!
