Christmas 2011

Christmas Day is always such a fun and busy day for us.  This year was no exception.  Our kids woke up around 7:00 on Christmas morning.  They were so excited to tear into their presents that I could barely get them to pose for a quick picture.  We were excited to have Grandma Teresa and Grandpa Dave come over and watch the kids open their presents this year.

Santa left Angry Birds in our tree!

Santa brought Ellie a Powerwing scooter and a Fijit friend.

David and John got these fantastic dinosaurs.  They are seriously cool.  They also got Nerf guns and a Rescue Hero helicopter.  Santa also brought remote control Lightning and Mater.

I could not get a good picture of the kids on Christmas morning.  John really wasn’t being a Grinch, he was just really, really anxious to play with that gun and didn’t want to smile for a picture.

Here is a picture of my awesome new Kitchen Aid mixer.  I love it so much.  Best idea ever, Eric.  Thanks again.  Santa brought Eric some running shoes, work shoes, and a sweet headlamp.  Santa rocks.

After opening presents, we played for awhile before we had to head over to Grandpa John’s and Grandma Jean’s house.  We had our special Christmas brunch casserole, orange rolls, and bacon.  Then we opened gifts from Grandma and Grandpa, played games, took naps, played with toys, and watched movies for the rest of the afternoon.

I really hope Ellie never grows out of playing Barbies.  I just love them too.

Once again the boys were not feeling very photogenic.  Here’s John with his awesome new fire truck complete with shooting water cannons, and David covering his face with his cool new Batmobile. (It also shoots rockets.)  Boy toys are super cool.

That evening we went to the Cooks to talk to Bryan on the phone and visit with our family.

It really was a great Christmas!
