Each year on Christmas Eve we get to hang out with the entire Cook family. We are lucky that Eric’s Aunt Kristy has a basement large enough to fit all of us. We started out by having dinner, then had a talent show, nativity, a visit from Santa, and cousin gift exchange. It was a fun evening!
Here is David in his shepherd outfit for the Nativity. He is the only one of our kids who would participate. His costume is actually a hand-me-down Jedi dress-up from our cousins. All night we called David a Jedi Shepherd. He was awesome.
Here are the boys with Santa. John was so excited to see him. I think he made everyone’s night because he was so happy. I wasn’t going to get a picture because we had recently had our Santa party at my mom’s house, but John wasn’t leaving without a picture with Santa.
Here is Ellie with our cousin Summer. They were excited that they both got the same Barbie.
David and John got these cool Chuck the Truck motorized vehicles and tracks. It was all John wanted to play with on Christmas. Even after Santa came on Christmas morning. He honestly said it was “the coolest toy he had ever seen.”
After the party at Kristy’s we headed to Eric’s parents to open more presents and hang out. This year Missy and Justin gave us an Elf on the Shelf. They gave it to us earlier in the season so we could enjoy it this year. We named our elf Teddy and the kids seriously adored him. They loved finding him in a different spot each morning. There were a few times that the kids tattled to Teddy instead of coming to me. It was a great gift.
Grandma Teresa and Grandpa Dave always give the kids the best outfits for Christmas. This year Ellie got these black boots that she is crazy about. She would wear them every second if I would let her. They have a small heel on them, so she feels very pretty and grown up. It is so funny.
After presents we headed home to bed so Santa could come to our house. Gotta love the busy busy holidays!
